Hello,

Today we took a little break from hiking and got a great opportunity to see some beautiful cathedrals and get a few tours. The first cathedral we explored was built in the 4th Century and was built into a cliff. There were many tombstones and ancient books that weighed up to 60 kilogram. We also visited a small monastery where San Millan lived on his own for ten years before his devoted followers joined him. It is believed he lived to 101 yrs old! For the 6 km that we did hike, the surrounding countryside was amazing and was surprisingly similar to Wisconsin, it even had the good old derriere smell. We are now staying Santo Domingo in a very nice hostel and learning about the miracle of the chickens. I encourage everyone to look that story up for yourselves.

Hasta lugeo,
Josh
